Multilingual Website and eIFU Portal for quartett GmbH

quartett GmbH is a German family-run company founded in Berlin in 1986. It develops and manufactures recombinant monoclonal antibodies for cancer diagnostics and is one of only a handful of manufacturers worldwide producing antibodies of such high sensitivity and specificity. All production takes place in Germany in a certified environment (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IVDR).

The company supplies more than 50 countries, has over 40 years of experience and a portfolio of 357+ products. Our task was to give this highly specialized and strictly regulated field a modern digital presence: a website that clearly presents the products to pathologists and laboratories, and a portal that meets European requirements for instructions for use.

• A regulated healthcare field: diagnostic antibodies fall under the IVDR, so instructions for use must be traceable, up to date and versioned.
• German and international market: content for a professional audience in three website languages, with instructions for use in 20 languages.
• An extensive catalog: hundreds of products across several categories that had to be migrated without losing traffic or the SEO value of the original URLs.
• Client independence: the quartett marketing team needs to manage content and the catalog on its own, without developers.

We built the corporate and product website in DE / EN / FR. The quartett GmbH editorial team manages the content independently in Sulu using content blocks. Marketing can add news, update product pages and assemble campaign sections without involving developers. The website also includes News & Events, Careers and contact forms.

The IVDR allows instructions for use (IFU) to be provided electronically instead of in print. However, the manufacturer must operate a reliable and traceable portal. For quartett GmbH, we delivered the eifu.quartett.com portal built on our DocuLIV product.

Users can find the right document in two ways: by product name or by the REF code printed on the label or delivery note. Built-in help shows exactly where to find the REF code and product name on the packaging. Instructions are available in 20 languages, each document has a traceable version history, and quartett provides printed copies free of charge on request.

We populated the product catalog via bulk CSV import across all categories: antibodies, detection systems, reagents and cell line controls. We designed the import as a reusable tool, so the client can extend and update the catalog on its own without custom development for every data batch.

The solution also includes a system of certification banners that communicates the regulatory status of each product, and a set of redirects that ensured no traffic or SEO value of the original URLs was lost during the migration and URL restructuring.

The entire solution is containerized with Docker and runs on Kubernetes in separate DEV and production environments. Changes go through controlled deployment, so updates to the website and catalog can be safely tested before going live.

We continue to take care of the website and the eIFU portal after launch, providing operations, updates and further development based on the client’s needs.
